A Thousand Years of Stonework
In 1896, Italian-American brothers Leopoldo and Gaetano Bocci founded L. Bocci & Sons; the first monumental masonry company in Colma, California. Having just immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area, they brought with them a family trade that dated back at least nine hundred years in the Italian Alps.
Fast forward to 2023, and the tradition of master craftsmanship continues under the name Bocci Designs — now in the hands of Pierre Jimenez, a dedicated stonemason with 25 years experience in the monument industry. The Bocci legacy lives on in the walls of the workshop as Pierre strives not just to uphold the standards of excellence set by the original founders, but to continue to innovate the art form as he brings the company forward into the modern day.
